Despite the doom and gloom of 2020 there was some positive news for Pindrop Hearing. Our Director Rony Ganguly has completed his professional Doctorate in Audiology (AuD). He completed the course with Highest Honours awarded by Nova South Eastern University in Florida, USA.
The Nova Southeastern University, AuD Doctor of Audiology program is an international post graduate degree, designed for working clinical audiologists and comprises 12 modules taught over 2 years. Modules include: Geriatric Audiology, Genetics of hearing, Pharmacology for Audiologists, Practice Management, Advanced Hearing aid technology, Cochlear Implantation and Vestibular diagnostics. The aim of the degree is to produce Doctorate level Audiologists with the very latest knowledge of clinical research and evidence based, best practice methods in the field of Audiology.
Rony said:
“I really enjoyed the Audiology doctorate program as I could immediately implement new methods, protocols and service delivery models directly into our clinical practice, such as implementing new protocols for tinnitus assessments and management of Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) so that our patients and my audiology team all benefited directly. Although I must admit, I underestimated the amount of time and work required to pass the course, so must thank my long suffering wife and Practice Manager Jo, for supporting me throughout the process!”
