PINDROP TECHNOLOGY REMOTE CARE NOW OFFERED

The development of remote fitting technology for hearing aids is at the forefront of our profession now, more than ever before due to the current pandemic restrictions.
Remote care for our profession means that as an independent, private, clinical audiology team, we can sometimes access patient hearing aids from our clinic whilst they are in the comfort of their own home. This technology has been developed by all of the major hearing aid brands and gives us a convenient way to maintain service continuity and care when it is needed the most.
As Patient Centered Care is at the heart of everything we do, we maximise this remote care option when it is appropriate for the patient so that exceptional and professional hearing care is optimised at all times.
Like many heath related solutions, our hearing services are normally offered face to face so that we make the most of our ongoing relationship with your patient and their lifestyle. We can offer the patient general troubleshooting and hearing aid care, fine tuning and program adjustments as well as new and replacement hearing aid fittings which allow us to keep them hearing at their best, for longer. We can see, hear, text and talk with them during the appointment and connecting the hearing aids to our professional software means they do not have to struggle to hear whilst they cannot get into clinic to see us.
To access remote care, the patient would need compatible bluetooth hearing aids, a smartphone or tablet to install one of the remote care applications and a stable internet connection. We can also now make essential updates to the hearing aid firmware remotely which ensures that they are always getting the best out of their technology solutions. The remote technology means that we can offer video teleconferencing and fine-tune hearing devices in real time. We can advise the patient as to whether their device is compatible with remote care options or not.
We have had wonderful success with the Phonak remote care app as well as with Signia and GN Resound. These are just some of our providers and as an independent business we can choose solutions and support options from any of the world’s best brands.
