Where have you worked in Audiology?
I completed training secondments at St Georges Hospital, The Royal Free and Queens Square.
What were your main duties?
My main duties included leading paediatric appointments under supervision, performing vestibular tests under supervision and carry out hearing aid assessments/fittings/follow-ups.
Why did you get into audiology?
My passion for Audiology began as I was able to witness a close family member go through the journey of losing his hearing. I was able to not only witness the drastic change in his life as a result of his hearing loss but also the beautiful transition into hearing aid use, which re-introduced him into the world of sound and significantly improved his quality of life.
What do you like about audiology?
Audiology offered me the opportunity to make a difference – from improving peoples’ lives to forming meaningful long-lasting relationships with clients of different ages and backgrounds. It made me realise that life is about the little things, which often have a major impact. Every day is a new learning experience that allows me to grow as an individual and I’m grateful to be on this journey.
What are your areas of interest in Audiology?
Adult hearing care and paediatrics.
