Name: Celine Bergonia
HCPC reg number: HAD005142
Qualifications: Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology (Honours), Master of Audiology
Where did you qualify?: University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand
Where have you worked in Audiology and what were your main duties?: I have worked at Bay Audiology and Dilworth Hearing in New Zealand, as well as with Amplifon in Central London, UK before working with Pindrop Hearing.
What are your main duties with Pindrop: Adult diagnostic hearing assessments, tinnitus assessment, wax removal, hearing aids and Lyric fitting, follow-up care, and troubleshooting, as well as paediatric hearing assessments.
What do you love about being an Audiologist and what got you into it in the first place?: I was drawn to audiology by the clear, measurable, and life-changing impact it has on people’s quality of life as well as the opportunity to support meaningful, positive change. Being part of a person’s journey toward improved hearing is incredibly rewarding, and I am passionate about educating and advocating for hearing health—particularly because hearing difficulties are often invisible yet profoundly affect daily life. Alongside this, I value the clinical and diagnostic foundations of audiology, where structured, evidence-based assessment leads to meaningful outcomes.
My background as a Speech and Language Pathologist shaped this path, having worked with children with speech and language difficulties and adults following stroke. Audiology was a natural progression, enabling me to build on this experience while continuing to improve communication—approaching it from a different, highly structured, and clinical perspective.
I have always wanted to help people and make a difference in other people’s lives. Communication is important to me so I’m blessed to have had 2 careers where my job is all about helping improve people’s issues with communication. I used to be a speech and language pathologist (SLP), so I have experience in helping children improve their language learning and speech difficulties.
I have also had brief experiences working with adults who have had a stroke, and I found it incredibly rewarding being able to help them get back to communicating with their loved ones. Audiology, was the next step for me because I knew I could carry over my experiences as an SLP while continuing work that aims to improve communication; only this time from a different angle. I enjoy the structured and science based nature of both the assessments and management.
What do you like about working at Pindrop Hearing?:
I enjoy working here because patient-centred care is at the core of everything we do, and we tailor to each patient’s individual journey toward better hearing – this is all because Pindrop is owned by a clinical audiologist who celebrates best practice audiology!
Professional development is supported and I also have access to the best hearing aids and clinical equipment, all of which enables me to provide truly personalised care. I also love working with my colleagues, who are not only highly knowledgeable but make the workplace collaborative and enjoyable. Being able to deliver the highest standards of care, with the right time and technology for each patient, alongside incredibly talented professionals make this a rewarding and great place to work.
Where will you be working at? Harley Street
What do you like doing in your spare time? I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, dancing, travelling, and watching my favourite K drama shows.
