Where have you worked in Audiology?

I trained in South Africa and began my audiology career there, where I worked in a specialised public sector hospital. After moving to London in 2023, I’ve worked as a clinical lead audiologist responsible for training and supervising a team of audiologists, and I have worked across different independent audiology practices as a clinical audiologist before joining Pindrop Hearing in July 2026.

What were your main duties?
My clinical work spans adult and paediatric diagnostic hearing assessments, personalised hearing aid rehabilitation, aural rehabilitation, tinnitus assessment and management and the assessment and therapy of Auditory Processing Disorders (APD) using the Buffalo Model, alongside wax removals. As clinical lead, I was also responsible for training and supervising audiologists, auditing their clinical work, and supporting their continuous professional development in line with clinical standards. I’m HCPC registered and committed to evidence-based, patient-centred care. I feel strongly that every patient should receive care that is as individualised to them as possible, and my goal is to facilitate this through gold-standard clinical practice and effective communication.
What are your areas of interest in Audiology?
I have a strong interest in adult diagnostic audiology and hearing aid rehabilitation, particularly in getting the fitting process right for each individual, taking the time to properly verify and fine-tune every fitting across manufacturers so that it truly suits the person wearing it and continue to value the training and clinical supervision side of audiology, supporting other audiologists in their development. I also have a strong passion for vestibular audiology and am grateful to be working with Pindrop Hearing who has such a phenomenal vestibular department.
Why did you get into audiology?
I have always known I wanted to help people and work in healthcare. I was drawn to audiology because I recognised a lack of awareness of hearing loss, and of audiologists themselves, within South Africa. I felt that hearing loss was important enough to be treated with the utmost care, and that more audiologists needed to be entering the field. This became clear to me after visiting a school for the deaf while I was in high school. I saw first-hand what hearing loss can mean for someone, the isolation, the communication difficulties, and the stigma. Watching those younger children navigate this made me unbelievably passionate about wanting to make a difference.
What do you like about audiology/being an Audiologist?
My favourite part of the job is the look on someone’s face the moment their hearing aids are switched on for the first time. It reminds me exactly why this work matters, and it’s endlessly rewarding. I love building genuine relationships with my patients from our very first appointment through to their ongoing care and being part of their journey. It’s equally rewarding to see tinnitus patients realise they have real options, and to help them understand that habituation is possible.
What do you like about working at Pindrop Hearing?
I enjoy working at Pindrop Hearing because personalised, patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do here. I love being part of a team that shares that same commitment, one that takes the time with each patient is always willing to share knowledge and support one another. Pindrop gives me the clinical autonomy to apply gold-standard practice properly, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, in an environment where clinical excellence and professional development are genuinely encouraged. I am also grateful to be mentored by senior audiologists who are so passionate about audiology as well as being clinically excellent.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
Outside of the clinic, I love to travel and explore new places whenever I get the chance. I also treasure time spent with friends, and I have a real passion for art.
