Rony began his academic career by obtaining a Bachelors Degree (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He then went on to the prestigious Institute of Laryngology and Otology at University College London, where he obtained a Masters Degree (MSc) in Audiological Science, qualifying in 1999.
He completed his Certificate of Audiological Competence (CAC) as an Audiological Scientist at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital in London and in 2003 achieved state registration with the Health Professions Council (HPC) as a Clinical Scientist (Audiology) , requiring a minimum of five year's postgraduate training in total. During his time as Audiological Scientist at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Rony gained a vast amount of experience in all aspects of clinical audiology, including paediatrics, advanced auditory and vestibular diagnostics and adult auditory rehabilitation using digital hearing aids.
In 2004 he took up a post as a lecturer in audiology at The Ear Institute at University College London, where he taught and examined many audiology students at both BSc and MSC level.
In 2006 he passed the Hearing Aid Council (HAC) examinations to become a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser (RHAD).
Since 2006 he has been managing Pindrop Hearing, providing his expertise in audiology to patients with hearing problems at a number of private hospitals around the London area. Since 2007 he has been based at 107 Harley Street in a state-of-the art facility, along with renowned ENT consultants Mr Jeremy Lavy, Mr Tony Bull, Professor Shak Saeed and Mr John Almayda.
